The Bartsch Vineyard in Osoyoos is the hottest site in the Okanagan - the perfect home for our sun-loving Syrah. Our winemaker, on the other hand, keeps well protected with sunscreen as he watches for berries to shrivel - a telltale sign it's time to pick. Thanks to all that heat and shrivel, our Syrah won Canada's Red Wine of the year in 2007. All our winemaking decisions get the same attention to detail as the Syrah does. And the results show in every bottle. On that, you have our word.
WINEMAKER’S NOTES
This Syrah was sourced from a single vineyard located in the south Okanagan at Osoyoos. Aged for 15 months in French oak, the 2006 Estate Select Syrah is enjoyable now and will continue to improve with further cellar aging.
TASTING NOTES
Rich raspberry, ripe cherry and blackberry fruit aromas with a hint of white pepper. Firm tannins, lingering fruit with a hint of vanilla and spice.
CULINARY NOTES
Recommended with roast beef, roast chicken and grilled meats. Pairs well with medium to firm cheeses.
